Damon Wayons and Youtube are partnering up to launch "WayOutTV," a collaboration that will feature sketch comedy shorts produced by Wayons. Wayons calls the project "In Living Color 2.0."
For those of you who aren't familiar with "In Living Color," it was a sketch comedy show (ala SNL) that featured the Wayons Brothers, an unknown-at-the-time Jim Carey, and "the Fly Girls" who danced you to and from commercials - one of whom was Jennifer Lopez.
It was an early-90's thing. Question is, will the humor hold up today to make Wayons a household name again? Let's go to the videotape, discuss, and decide:
Wayons says this on the venture:
"For too long, comedy has been a one-way dialogue, with comedians talking to an audience rather than with an audience. My entire goal is to make people laugh and at the same time find a way to be creative and collaborative with people who want to be a part of the process."
Just remember, last time we laughed at Damon Wayons we were doing the running man to Vanilla Ice songs... with a straight face.
