103-year-old throws out first pitch

Baseball's oldest living player, 103-year-old Emilio Navarro, threw out the first pitch for the Oakland Athletics/San Diego Padres game on Saturday. He said he felt like he was in heaven.

Yeah, not really celeb news, but I thought it was a neat little story.

Kansas City Royals' pitcher Kyle Farnsworth injured by dog

Kansas City Royals' relief pitcher Kyle Farnsworth had his left index finger bandaged for the last 2 games after being bitten by his own dog. His 2 bulldogs were fighting with each other so Kyle tried to break it up, but ended up having his finger used as a snack. He's fine though and the bite wasn't severe.

Bet both he and Royals' fans are glad he's right-handed.

Chicago Cubs' pitcher Carlos Zambrano ejected from last night's game

You're probably sitting there thinking, "So what? Players get ejected from games all the time." I won't spoil the surprise for you, but just watch this 2-minute clip and see how Carlos takes out his frustration. It's f*cking hilarious.

And now, check out a quick 45-second interview with Carlos about how he takes out his aggression. At least he was a good sport about it, even though he really does act like a spoiled brat.

Manny Ramirez tests positive for steroids

Manny Ramirez has been suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs, effective today when the L.A. Dodgers take on the Washington Nationals. Pending rainouts, Manny won't be available to play again until July 3.

This is NOT going to sit well with the Dodgers management, considering they've been kicking ass in their division lately, not to mention all of the hulla-baloo that Manny put them through during the offseason to re-sign him. AND not to mention Manny just f*cked my fantasy baseball team hard. Up the bum. With something turned sideways.

"Dirty Thoughts" with Milwaukee Brewers' Rickie Weeks

"Oh sh*t."

(Rickie was drilled in the face with a pitch by Cincinnati Reds' pitcher Edinson Volquez while squaring around to bunt, but surprisingly wasn't injured and stayed in the game.)

Brian Giles a woman beater?

I don't wanna say I don't believe this, considering this wouldn't be the first time a Major League Baseball player beat his wife (hello David Justice, who beat his then-wife Halle Berry about 10 years ago), but San Diego Padres' outfielder Brian Giles is being accused of not only verbally and physically abusing his ex-girlfriend Cheri Olivera, but causing a miscarriage. Video has surfaced of a man that's supposed to be Brian walking into a bar and grabbing Cheri by the hair, then bringing her to a back room and slapping her to the ground. But I don't know...I can't picture someone in the public eye being dumb enough to beat their significant other in public, which makes me doubt that it's him. Check out the video below.

But just to show not all celebs are hurtin like Fantasia...

I just felt the need to show you that not all famous people are in as much trouble as Fantasia Barrino is. Major League Baseball pitcher C.C. Sabathia just signed a 7-year contract with the New York Yankees worth $161 million dollars. So while the rest of us are struggling to pay our cable bills and put something resembling a meal on the table every night, there's still people out there getting paid an obscene amount of money for simply playing a game. Just throwing that out there.

American League wins longest All-Star game in history

15 innings and 4 hours 50 minutes later, the American League finally beat the National League to win the 2008 All-Star Game, the last All-Star Game to ever be played in Yankee Stadium. The AL finally won 4-3 after Texas Rangers' shortstop Michael Young hit a deep fly to centerfield, giving Minnesota Twins' first basemen Justin Mourneau plenty of time to score the winning run in the Bottom of the 15th.

Boston Red Sox's outfielder J.D. Drew was named the MVP, and the polite fans in Yankee Stadium booed the hell out of him. Mind you, hours earlier they cheered for him when he tied the score of the game with a 2-run homer. It makes sense though. The Yankees haven't won a World Series this millennium, and their stadium is going to be turned into a parking lot.

I think it's time to face facts -- the Yankees really do suck.
