Danyl Johnson X Factor audition

Auditions were held across the pound over the weekend for Simon Cowell's show The X Factor. 27-year-old Danyl Johnson was one of the hopefuls to land a spot on the show, and it looks like he might've. During his performance of The Beatles' With a Little Help From My Friends, Simon kept applauding and smiling, finally giving Danyl a standing ovation at the end and calling it the "best first audition I've ever seen." Check out Danyl's performance below.

Simon Cowell gives woman wad of cash

During auditions for The X Factor in Glasgow, Scotland the other day, some lady lost her purse and started going crazy trying to find it. After announcements over the loudspeaker to report the lost purse went unanswered, Simon Cowell ended up giving the lady a wad of cash to help her get home.

Everyone's talking about how nice Simon was for doing it, but let's be real -- he gave her the money so she'd just shut the hell up. Really...would you wanna listen to some broad hysterically crying about her lost purse all day? Didn't think so.

Simon Cowell's ex wants him to stop working so much

Simon Cowell's ex Terri Seymour thinks Simon is pretty much going to work himself into an early grave. She's worried that he's not going to have time to enjoy all of his riches because he's too busy working so much to make a ton of cash. Terri is apparently pleading with him to quit one of his shows (either Britain's Got Talent, X Factor, or American Idol). There've been rumors that Simon was going to leave Idol after his contract expires next May, but he was just offered $144 million to stay onboard, so I highly doubt he'll leave, which is making Terri even more sick and worried.

If I were Simon, the following words would come out of my mouth: "Bitch, shut yo' trap. I dumped your ass months ago. Go bother someone else. Kbye." (That'd sound hilarious with a British accent.)

Susan Boyle talks to Oprah

Susan Boyle was a guest via satellite on Oprah yesterday, coincidentally while Simon Cowell was an in-studio guest. During the chat, Susan talked about how she's living a dream right now, and how singing helped her cope with the loss of her mother.

Pretty awesome to be recognized in the street and asked for autographs. I'm getting quite a few fan letters and cards from around the globe. I'm loving every second of it. It takes a bit of time to take in because it happened so quickly. I'm really enjoying every second of it. It's like a dream come true. My mom died two years ago. After that there was a wee period where I didn't sing. You try and keep going through that pain and that's what I try to do with my singing. I am very slowly getting over it. One of the reasons I applied to the TV show was to see if I could perform in front of an audience.

Some people gain fame and their head and ego both swell up to dimensions unknown and they turn into total uber-douches. Then there's the Susan Boyle's of the world who are still down-to-earth and act like they did before anyone else other than family knew they existed. And that, my friends, is cool.

Gordon Ramsay wants Simon Cowell's spot on "Idol"

With all the talk of Simon Cowell possibly leaving American Idol after the end of next season, celebs are already throwing their hat in the ring to be his replacement. During a conference call about Hell's Kitchen, chef Gordon Ramsay was asked if he'd be willing to fill Simon's shoes.

If he’s going to retire, Christ, I would consider stepping in; definitely, of course I would.

I think Gordon is the sh*t and he's really the only reason I watch Hell's Kitchen. I don't care about the challenges, I don't care about the food, I don't care about the people -- my entertainment comes solely from him being a total prick to every single contestant on the show and making them have constant meltdowns. That being said, just because you're a bad ass chef on TV doesn't mean you'd make a good American Idol judge. The judges all have some sort of background in music -- can you imagine a contestant sitting there getting sh*t on by a chef? Just wouldn't make sense. Entertaining, yes, but just wouldn't make sense.

Simon Cowell thinks "Idol" is depressing

The rumors that Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol at the end of next season when his contract expires just picked up steam, and it's all because of Simon himself. During an interview with the Associated Press, Simon said the thought of staying on as an Idol judge is actually depressing.

The idea that for the next five years, I'd be doing exactly what I've been doing for the past five years ... the thought is just too depressing. I'd go nuts, bored out of my mind. You have to evolve, you have to change. I like the challenge of launching something new.

And that something new that Simon is talking about is possibly a US version of his hit British show The X Factor. It's something Simon has wanted to do for a while, get another singing competition on the airwaves, but Fox has forbid him to start up a US version while he's under contract with Idol.

Honestly, I'm all for Simon leaving. Idol would take a huge blow, but Simon won't be as awesome as he is now if he's really not wanting to be there. Let's be real -- the whole reason Idol blew up was because of Simon. Why do you think Simon is the last judge in line to talk? Everyone hangs on the edge of their seat to hear what he has to say. Idol is screwed when Simon leaves, especially if he starts up a US version of The X Factor. What would be even MORE classic would be if he brought Seacrest over to host...

Paula Abdul talks "Idol" and drugs

Paula Abdul chatted with ABC about all things American Idol -- whether Kara DioGuardi was forcing her off the show, what it was like to add a fourth judge, and working with Simon Cowell. She also quickly touches on the drug/alcohol rumors about her.

On rumors that DioGuardi would replace her next season: "I don't think anyone [can]. First of all, Kara says 'I could never replace you.' And I said, whenever there is change it's not about replacing anybody. It's about possibly moving on."

How she found out Idol added a fourth judge: "I just got out of this hospital this past August. I had three days to pack and go on the road. I found out on the way to the airport ... I thought that respectfully all of us as a group, maybe we could even figure this out together, and I was surprised because Simon has always been against the fourth. We've had guest judges come in before, and he banned that from happening anymore."

On 'Idol' judge DioGuardi: "Well, I started her success. And I'm proud of it. Happy of it. I moved a stranger from New York, told her to give two weeks' notice to Billboard magazine, and moved a stranger into my home in L.A ... I actually think that Simon got mad that we are friends and that I actually knew her and that her humble beginning began sleeping in my guest bedroom and I just believed in her."

On working with Simon Cowell: "He's a bully, he's a masterful bully ... The first day I went to work on season one I quit seven times. Seven times. Because I couldn't believe that someone was actually getting away with crushing fragile kids. This happens behind your back, [not] in front of your face. I couldn't take the pain that I saw, and I think being an artist who has had success, it's very vulnerable when you are the talent. And when someone attacks you with criticism that isn't constructive, sometimes it's hard to take."

On her rumored prescription drug and alcohol use: "Never. I've never been drunk in my life. I don't like it. It's not my thing. Spending money on clothes and shoes -- that's another thing."

Don't expect four Idol judges next year

The whole four judge deal on American Idol has run it's course as far as popularity goes, and no one is a fan of it at all. Not the fans, not the producers, not even the judges themselves. On camera, it may seem like the 4 judges are super tight and everything is all peaches and roses, but they're really not. Once the cameras stop, Kara is on her own. For example, during breaks, Randy, Simon, and Paula will all get up together and either talk to the crowd or go grab food, while Kara just sits in her swivel chair.

The whole idea of bringing on Kara as a fourth judge was to ease the transition of Paula leaving the show, which she planned on doing at the end of this season once her contract was up. But now, psycho ass Paula is throwing a wrench in the gears, and has decided she wants to stay on and is doing anything possible to try and extend her contract.

I actually feel kinda bad for Kara, because I totally know what it's like to be the odd person out and kinda just sit around while everyone else brings up their inside jokes and already have that chemistry together. And I honestly think Paula's a bitch, because she's contributing a lot to Kara still being on the outside looking in.

Simon Cowell leaving Idol

We reported a couple of weeks ago that Simon Cowell was feeling uber burnt out between his super busy schedule of American Idol, Britain's Got Talent, and The X Factor, and felt like he wanted to lighten his load by bailing on one of the shows. It sounds like he's leaning toward American Idol.

I don't want to come over as whiny because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs, but there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up. Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of traveling. One may have to go ... I can't imagine not doing Britain’s Got Talent and I can't imagine not doing X Factor. But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end.

I really can't see Idol being as popular without Simon, but we'll see what happens.

Is Simon leaving American Idol?

Bad news for you American Idol fans. Simon Cowell may be leaving the show. Now, nothing's been confirmed but Simon has said that he's insanely burnt out between all of the work he does. Right now, he's working on Idol, The X Factor, and Britain's Got Talent. He said all of the work is just too much "pressure" and that "something may have to give."

I honestly think if he left a show, he'd end up leaving Britain's Got Talent. I feel like Idol put him on the map in the States, and The X Factor put him on the map across the pond. Plus, Idol will die without Simon.

Simon Cowell wants to be frozen

Simon Cowell doesn't want to be buried 6 feet under or cremated when he meets his demise. No, he wants to be cryogenically frozen. He's convinced that scientists will eventually figure out a way to bring people back to life, and he wants to make sure he's around for when it happens.

I would be doing the nation an invaluable service.

I'd love to see Simon 200 years in the future -- maybe I'll freeze myself too and we'll be drinking buddies.

Oscars bring couples back together

Aside from bringing joy and recognition to exceptional acting, the Oscars also seem to bring couples back together. Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson are back together, after Evan was overheard saying she was meeting up with Marilyn after the show was over. (Does anyone else find it hilarious that in that couple, the girl has a guy's name, and the guy has a girl's name?) And it turns out Simon Cowell brought his ex Terri Seymour to Elton John's party. They were seen sitting together while watching the show and enjoying a nice dinner.

Good luck to both couples on their second go-around!!

Victoria Beckham joining X Factor?

Since Simon Cowell booted Kelly Brook as a judge of The X Factor a few weeks ago, he's been searching desperately for another judge, and has it narrowed down to 3 ladies. Lily Allen, Charlotte Church, and his personal favorite, Victoria Beckham. He's offering Posh a sweet $1.4 mil to hop on board as the final judge for the show.

It's a shame I don't live in the UK. I'd love seeing her on my TV every week.

Simon Cowell hates Kara and Paula

Paula Abdul is loving the fact that her tight friendship with new American Idol judge Kara DioGuardio is driving Simon Cowell absolutely crazy. Since Kara and Paula were roomies back in the day, it's been like a reunion for them and they're closer than ever, and it's apparently making Simon sick to his stomach.

Honestly, I can't blame him. I have nothing against Kara, but I saw Paula on an episode of Rachael Ray once, and she's annoying as hell when she's around a BFF. I can only imagine what her and Kara are like behind the scenes. Simon probably wants to piledrive both of them.

Simon Cowell fires a judge

No worries, my little chick-a-dees. Simon didn't fire any judges off American Idol (actually, I don't even think he has that power), but he dropped someone from Britain's Got Talent. Model/Actress Kelly Brook was brought on as a 4th judge to spice things up, but was fired after 6 days after Simon said she just didn't have the necessary skills to impress him.

Which probably means she wouldn't get naked with him.

Simon Cowell loves sex

Now here's something you really didn't need to know about Simon Cowell. One of his ex-girlfriends has come out and said that although Simon wants to eventually find love and companionship, sex is very important to Simon, he has a "roving eye" and that he usually goes for girls with curly hair and great figures.

Curly hair and great figures, huh? No wonder Leona Lewis was the winner of X Factor a few years back... (Kidding, she kicks ass.)
