If you're having a bad day or just feel like having a good laugh, check out this ebay item up for auction. There's a story that goes with it, so make sure you scroll all the way down and read it! It's one of the funniest things I've ever read (and may teach people not to cheat on their "significant others!")
Forget the Spice Girls! The reunion that reaaaalllllyyy matters has just been announced. New Kids On the Block - like a really bad steak - are coming back!!!
People Magazine made the official announcement.
Eighteen years later, they’re still “Hangin’ Tough.” The oldest “Kid,” Jonathan Knight, now a real estate developer, will turn 40 later this year. Since the band’s demise, former members Donnie Wahlberg, 38, and Joey McIntyre, 35, have seen acting success, while Danny Wood, 38, has worked as a music producer and Knight’s brother, Jordan, 37, has continued to record.
A 40-year-old real estate developer??? That'll made the ladies scream.
But if you doubt the awesomeness that was New Kids On the Block, check this video for the greatest... song... ever: (Now if only Fine Young Cannibals would reunite!)
And I poop you not when I tell you that that was my ringback tone for a handful of months!
And if New Kids can make a comeback, here's hoping that this awesome 80's toy with the coolest jingle ever can come back too. My first friend:
If you wanted to see the effects of not having writers, watch Last Call With Carson Daly. I have a schedule where I get home a little after midnight every night from work and it takes me a couple hours to unwind and go to sleep. So I have been watching Carson to see how he does without writers. He's back... the writers are not.
Holy tish. This stuff is awful.
If you can't stay up due to work/school or whatever -- TIVO IT!!! It's so bad and uncomfortable, you can't stop watching. In fact, Carson's show parallels Britney Spears' career in many ways.
Seriously. Tune in. It's worth it. If anything will make this show last 'til 2009 it's the lack of writers. Because with the writers, he sucks. Without the writers, he's so bad your eyes become paralyzed with suck and can't move away from the screen. Tragically and awfully awesome.
So yeah. Writer's strike. Blah blah. Reruns. Blah blah. Jimmy Kimmel had the best musical performance I've ever seen a couple months ago, so keep on striking hacks! I'm glad I got a second chance to see this.
Mutemath did their song "Typical" BACKWARDS in front of the audience. The lead dude lip synced it with Milli Vanilli precision (pre CD skip fiasco). Then they aired it backwards so it looked forward. Just watch the video! It's worth it... and it'll make sense.
Watching broadcasters getting beat up on the air is awesome... especially when it's not me. And listen for the cocky celebrity staple "don't you know who I am?" These live TV moments are the best reason to watch Larry King. That and for close-ups of his liver spots. Try and count 'em all!
As lame as it makes me sound, "Pushing Daisies" is the most beautiful, magical, & heart-warming TV series (judging solely on the pilot) that I've seen since "21 Jump Street."
(Don't judge me -- it was a sensitive period in my life.)
Anyway --- LOVE it! Watch it next week... Wednesdays 8pm ABC. Easily my favorite new show in a dismal new show TV season.
Oh yeah... and I love "Kitchen Nightmares" on FOX too. But don't hold that against me. "Pushing Daisies" is ACTUALLY quality.
Hopefully they can keep the magic up past the first few weeks.
Peep this one, McGee. It ain't no Nelson "After the Rain" - but damn fine in it's own right. I've always been a fan of the song... and after a drunk download spree on itunes the other night, I'm now a mongo fan of the video too. Which in turn makes me love the song even more.
I just read an article about some dude from Japan who won the World Air Guitar Contest in Finland for the second year in a row. The guy is becoming the Kobayashi of air guitar. Which got me thinking... WTF??? Air Guitar WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS??? So of coarse I Youtubed it ASAP and now I present to you for your viewing pleasure... this:
