Penelope Cruz was supposed to promote her upcoming flick Nine at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, but she ended up getting sidelined with a bout of food poisoning. Penelope is also starring in Broken Embraces, which has its debut later today at the festival. Her rep says there's a good chance she'll be at the premiere, since "she is getting better and is seeing a doctor right now."

Dudes and dudettes, food poisoning SUCKS. Hardcore. Good way to lose some poundage though, considering...umm...I'll just say food or anything else doesn't settle in your tummy for long.
