Janet Jackson Jermaine Dupri split

A grieving Janet Jackson has another loss to mourn -- her 7 year relationship with producer Jermaine Dupri has ended just weeks after her brother died. Janet and Jermaine have been on the rocks for a while, according to friends, which is one reason why he was noticeably absent from MJ's memorial service. Friends are also saying that they've been going in different directions for a while and their personalities clash -- JD loves being in the limelight and interacting with everyone, but Janet is more of a private person.

Either way, you gotta feel for Janet. Although I don't think she's really worrying about the breakup right now -- she seems more focused on helping her mother Katherine care for her niece Paris and her nephews Paris I and Paris II.

MJ's relatives say goodbye at memorial

At the end of the Michael Jackson Memorial, the entire Jackson family hit the stage with a few of his brothers speaking (I think Jermaine was first, Marlon was definitely second.) It sounded like Janet was going to say something, but she made way for Michael's daughter Paris, who left a tearful goodbye and reminded everyone that maybe Michael actually ISN'T the monster that people have made him out to be for so long. Janet Jackson's BET Awards speech

Janet Jackson appeared on the BET Awards last night to make a little speech about her brother, where she basically said that she wants to thank the fans on behalf of her family for their love and support, and that they miss him very much. She looked like she was fighting back tears, so you definitely gotta feel bad for the girl. Especially since I think I remember hearing that they were the closest of all the brothers and sisters. Janet Jackson cancels part of her tour again

If you remember back in the fall, Janet Jackson cancelled about 7 shows because she was hospitalized randomly. Turns out she just had some severe migraines and nothing serious. Well, she's back at it, cancelling her appearances in Japan from Feb 14 to Feb 22. She's blaming it on the failing economy.

Over the weekend, The New York Daily News and Perez Hilton both reported that Janet Jackson was knocked up with Jermaine Dupri's baby. Well, we here at Celebrity Dirt can point out the fact that they're brainless and very, very wrong. Janet is NOT pregnant, and Jermaine even gave us a little shoutout when denying the pregnancy rumors!

Jackson 5 reunite!!!

You want to talk about boy bands getting back together -- THE VERY FIRST ORIGINAL BOY BAND IS BACK!! The Jackson 5 are hitting the studio, and it's been confirmed that Michael Jackson is in!! Mikey's brother Jermaine broke the news.

This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family to get back together. It is going to be more like a family affair. Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5... Michael, Randy and the whole family... we're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year.

Janet keeps it clean in Michigan

Janet Jackson decided to cut a segment out of her show last night to say in accordance with Michigan state law that doesn't allow simulated sex acts in a public performing space.

Normally during her segment for Discipline, Janet will take a male fan from the crowd and bring him up on stage, tie him up, and then "molest" him while her dancer simulate different sexual acts, including masturbation. Instead of having to cancel the show all together because of the segment, she just cut it completely.

And it's pretty safe to say if Janet Jackson ever molested me, I'd die a happy Jadder.

Janet Jackson mystery illness solved

Janet Jackson had to postpone 2 weeks of shows from her Rock Witchu tour due to a mystery illness that laid her up in the hospital overnight. Turns out, it was just a bout of vertigo.

Seriously, Janet? I had vertigo one night in high school and the worst that happened to me was puking in my car while in the Drive Thru line at McDonald's. I was fine the next morning. Admit it, you just got lazy and didn't feel like performing for 2 weeks.

Another Janet Jackson update

Okay, we have the lowdown on Janet Jackson. It's still not known exactly why she was admitted into a Montreal hospital, but she was apparently released two hours later. But even with her quick release, her Boston performance tonight has been postponed, and same with her performance in Philly tomorrow. She'll continue the tour Saturday in Greensboro, NC.

Weird, weird stuff. Well, not so weird for the Jackson family I suppose.

Janet Jackson isn't feeling any better than she was when she was first hospitalized a couple of days ago. She's postponed her show in Boston at the TD Banknorth Garden tonight. No word on when it will be rescheduled or what's up with the other upcoming shows on her tour.

Please, please, PLEASE don't turn into creepy Michael.

Janet Jackson hospitalized!!

Janet Jackson was rushed to the hospital last night after feeling "suddenly ill" during sound check of her show in Montreal. She's just two weeks into her Rock With U tour, her first in about 7 years. She's still at the hospital now, and there's no word on what's wrong with her or when she'll be back.

We wish her a quick recovery, and hope she doesn't turn out anything like this:

New Music Tuesday!!! (2/26)

Welcome back to my own private hell, that is, listening to the latest releases and giving you honest to goodness reviews, based on the entire albums and not just the singles! We here at Dirtydirtdirt do the work for you! So enjoy the ado.... and begin -

LADIES WEEK!!!!

>So, we've all been waiting and wondering what JANET JACKSON has been up to lately, right? ....(*crickets...crickets*).... Right? (....tumbleweeds blow by my keyboard...) Me neither. She, however has been recording (and presumably other things*) with boyfriend/munchkin Jermaine Dupree, the album "DISCIPLINE". The first single "Feedback" is our first taste of what happens when you lock Janet and JD in a studio for a spell, and while I really have nothing bad to say about the track, it's pretty much standard studio Janet, across the board. Nothing special. Sure, most of it would sound better in a club, but how often are you clubbing it these days? (I'm not talking to you Maloof brothers!!) It doesn't hit like "Rhythm Nation 1814" did, back in the day, and it doesn't have the same kind of 'umph' that "Velvet Rope" did. Does anyone remember another Janet Jackson album besides those two? Nah, me neither. I like Ms. Jackson, (because I'm nasty), but this album is just average to me.

>ERYKAH BADU finally has an album coming out, and while I am almost convinced that Ms. Badu is literally almost completely crazy now, most great musicians are, so this should be a fun ride. And she does not disappoint, once again. The whole album is a fun, funky, trippy ride, and the closed thing to a complete "album", since the late 1960s. I applaud her efforts and give this album my coveted PICK O'THE WEEK! Sidebar - Her video for 'Honey', is the greatest thing to grace BET in years!

>It's always seemed to me, that both the music and the physical being of Mrs. DOLLY PARTON has seemed, how do I say this... Fake, I guess? I mean, she's an earnest, hard working country grrl, who's always overcome adversity... but I like her as a cartoon figure, and a character, and not really a singer. That out of the way, she's a hell of a talent, an American treasure, and the reason why Al-Queda hates our freedoms. I have no take on her new album " Backwoods Barbie". If you like her, I'm sure you'll think it's great. And it can't be worse that most of the crap out there now anyways. Ehh. Sidebar - If you want a glimpse into what Jessica Simpson would look like if she had more/any talent, look no further. It's like looking into a time machine!

>MISSY HIGGINS, who's no relation to Bryan Huggins, is next on our all-star line-up of ladies. Anyone who's ever watched an episode of any Grey's Anatomy, or seen a movie with Zach Braff, or watched ANY sappy TV show on the CW, knows the sound of music on this album. Higgins is no new comer to this trend, and has helped out many-a-show end their season, episode, or whatever, with her blend of downbeat, introspective, piano-driven harmonies... and you would expect me to say something bad about this, right? We'll, truth is, I like the little Aussie. I like her voice, I like her message, and I like the fact that she writes all of her own songs. So, for you Missy Higgins, and your new album " On a Clear Night", you win. A good review from me. : )
