Heath Ledger's final days
Heath Ledger has landed on the cover of the new Vanity Fair with a feature on his final days and where he was at mentally. A few of his friends, family, and mentors have spoken out about his mental health and stuff he was dealing with leading up to his death.
On problems with Michelle Williams: "Because he's a much nicer person than I am, he really thought he could do the right thing. He was trying to be decent and graceful, give [Williams] whatever she wanted--the house, every f*cking thing. But once it started going south, it went very quickly. He was overwhelmed by lawyers, and there were more and more of them, as if they were breeding. I said, 'This is bullsh*t. Heath, just end it. Get out--it's bad. You've got to just walk away from it.' The stakes kept going up. He wouldn't listen to any of us. Heath was devoted to keeping his daughter safe and did everything he could to stay together with Michelle even though he slowly started to unravel. He was always blaming himself, asking, 'What did I do wrong?'" - Terry Gilliam (mentor)
How chronic insomnia may have led to his death: "Everyone has a different view of how he passed away. From my perspective, and knowing him as well as I did, and being around him as much as I was, it was a combination of exhaustion, sleeping medication ... and perhaps the aftereffects of the flu. I guess his body just stopped breathing." - Gerry Grennell (vocal coach)
Why Ledger tried to tear down his career: "He was a private person, and he didn't want to share his personal history with the press. It just wasn't up for sale. He wasn't motivated by money or stardom, but by the respect of his peers, and for people to walk out of a movie theater after they'd seen something that he’d worked on and say, 'Wow, he really disappeared into that character.' He was striving to become an 'illusionist,' as he called it, able to create characters that weren’t there." - Steven Alexander (agent)
His pure devotion for his career: "He would arrive in the morning completely knackered. By the end of the day he was beaming, glowing with energy. It was like everything was put into the work, because that was the joy; that's what he loved to do. The words were just pouring out. It was like he was channeling." - Terry Gilliam

Congrats to Heath Ledger

The full list of Oscar winners will be posted, but I thought Heath Ledger deserved his own spot. Regardless of the controversy surrounding how he died, Heath absolutely KILLED IT in his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight. I really think it's one of the best jobs I've seen in my entire life.
Congratulations on being named Best Supporting Actor, Heath. You earned it!

Heath Ledger was clean when he died?

Hollywood Director Terry Gilliam is trying to clear Heath Ledger's name by saying that he didn't have a drug problem when he died of an accidental drug overdose over a year ago (I know, that sounds weird to me too.) He said that Heath kicked his addiction to weed and alcohol and actually credits his death to "insomnia."
Hmm...I suppose it's possible. I mean, Jessie Spano from Saved by the Bell was addicted to caffeine pills, so it's definitely possible to overdose on sleeping pills.

Heath Ledger's apartment a tough sell

Real estate agents have run into such a problem trying to sell Heath Ledger's old apartment that they have to decided to temporarily take it off the market. The apartment has had a difficult time finding a new tenant partially because of the events of Heath's death.
I'm a little surprised Michelle Williams didn't buy it for her daughter to inherit in a way, but then again, that might've been too heavy.

The buzz around the performance is that it was VERY Oscar-worthy and tons of critics and peeps in Hollywood are expecting him to definitely come up big when the Oscars come around.

Michelle Williams is still a sad panda

Michelle Williams is still really broken up about the death of her ex and daughter's father, Heath Ledger. She's said that she's having an insanely tough time with it.
The more time that passes, the more you miss someone. In some ways it gets worse.
You really gotta feel for the girl. Her and Heath were a great tag team of parents to Matilda, and you never really heard about any drama between them.

Mary-Kate Olsen has a boyfriend
That broad is so effed up. First she's a crack addict and anorexic, then gets back on track, then gets all shady when Heath dies, and now she's dating someone who wears more flannel than Al Borland.

Feds drop investigation of Heath Ledger death

Investigators announced that they're dropping the Heath Ledger case and will not continue pursuing it. They were investigating exactly how Heath got his hands on the stronger-than-usual meds and planned on questioning Mary-Kate Olsen about it (since she was the last one seen with him), but the broad wanted immunity in exchange for talking. We reported yesterday that she was subpoenaed, but that doesn't matter now that the investigation was dropped.
They're TOTAL tools! Obviously she knew something if she was trying to get immunity! Why else would she beg for it? That douchebag hasn't done anything since Full House.

Mary-Kate Olsen forced to testify in court

Ohhh the power of a subpoena (sah-pee-nah...in case you wanted to know how to say it). The other day, we reported that Mary-Kate refused to talk to authorities about Heath Ledger's death unless she was granted immunity. So the courts gave her the big FU and filed a subpoena, so now she's required appear in court or her ass goes to jail.
Mary-Kate = Skeletor. Skeletor = Dumbass. You do the math.

Mary-Kate Olsen not helping in Heath Ledger investigation

Even though she was the first one called when Heath Ledger was found dead, Mary-Kate Olsen refuses to talk to federal investigators about Heath's case unless she's given immunity from prosecution.
Everyone else (like his ex Michelle Williams, his masseuse, bodyguards, housekeepers, etc) is cooperating and saying how great Heath was, but Mary-Kate is the only one putting up a fight.
So I'm not calling Heath a druggie, but apparently he was with Mary-Kate before he died. He died of a drug overdose. Mary-Kate likes drugs and went to rehab. See where I'm going with this?

Batman Still on Top
Despite stiff competition from The Mummy 3, the new Batman movie has once again come in as the #1 movie in America.
The Dark Knight took in another $44.8M this weekend, putting its total at $395.88M domestic.
Insane, how much do you think it'll take in before it leaves theatres? Then nevermind adding in DVD sales!!

Batman Still Assaulting..
the Box Office... hahhh. Just yesterday, A MONDAY!!, it took in $24 million bucks!!! Can you imagine??? That's insane.. I wonder if the extra publicity coming from Bale's arrest helped at all.. haha
The film has already made $182.9 million in less than a week of release!!! And 64% of Dark Knight fans saying they plan to see it AGAIN, so the movie could take in upwards of $500 million in America.
Absolutely insane.. I need to go see this movie haha

Why so serious? Because Batman sets records.

The Dark Knight opened this weekend and shattered a couple of box office records. It set a first-day earnings record of $66.4 million on Friday. The movie stayed hot throughout the weekend and set a new weekend earnings record of $155.34 million.
I haven't seen it yet...waiting for the hype to die down a bit. But I heard this movie is frickin SICK, and I heard it's even better in IMAX. And for the record, I WILL step on you if you get in my way for IMAX tickets.

Actor Heath Ledger found dead

Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York City apartment earlier today.
The 28-year-old actor starred in such films as Brokeback Mountain, Lords of Dogtown, The Patriot, and will play the Joker in the new Batman movie The Dark Knight due out later this year (now in post-production).
Little is known about his death, but early reports suggest it may have been from a drug overdose. Also it's being reported that one of the Olsen twins may have been at his apartment.
MORE (NEW) DETAILS:
He was found by the housekeeper and a masseuse unconscious in the apartment.
The apartment was not Ledger's but is owned by Mary Kate Olsen.
The New York Post is reporting there were pills found nearby and may be drug related.
The housekeeper went to let Ledger know the masseuse had arrived and that's when they both found him unconscious.
NEW UPDATE - 7:30pm:
The apartment was NOT Mary Kate Olsen's - according to the NY Times (and Olsen's publicist).
It either looks like a drug overdose or suicide.
