Farrah Fawcett special airing on Friday

What seems like months of rumors of back and forth stories that Farrah Fawcett is on her death bed and counter-stories of her doing well, a special on her battle with cancer is going to air on Friday night on NBC. Farrah's Story is a video diary of Farrah's battle and features her long-time partner Ryan O'Neal and her best friend Alana Stewart. In an interview with Meredith Vieira that should air later this morning on Today, Ryan says he hasn't seen any fear from Farrah at all.

I'm starting to wonder whether Farrah actually IS close to losing her battle. Why else would there be a random video diary coming out after rumors of her being so close to death have emerged? I hope it's just coincidence, but I have a feeling her family is prepping for the worst. I really hope I'm wrong for their sake.

Ryan O'Neal opens up about Farrah Fawcett

Ryan O'Neal has been pretty quiet during Farrah Fawcett's entire cancer ordeal, but as rumors of her conditions worsen, he's starting to talk about it more.

It's a love story. I just don't know how to play this one. I won't know this world without her. Cancer is an insidious enemy. She stays in bed now. The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended. The hair is gone. Her famous hair. I have it at home. She didn't care. I rub her head. It's kind of fun, actually, this great, tiny little head. How she carried all that hair I'll never know. She doesn't have a vanity about it. Farrah doesn't know Redmond (their son) is in trouble. And Redmond is terrified for his mother. 'I don't want to be in jail and have some guard tell me she is gone,' he said to me. I told him, 'She's rebounding.' I lied to him. I lie to her. It's the best thing. "I can't hear a song, I can't pass places that we were together, without being stabbed in the heart. A week ago Farrah said to me, 'Am I going to make it?' I said, 'Yes, you'll make it. And if you don't, I'll go with you.' Farrah has never, ever talked about how unfair it is. But I've thought about it. She may have thought to herself that she had been chosen to do this, that some higher power had put her in this situation. Because then there would be something positive to come out of it. And maybe that's true. But I'm just not so sure it's something positive for Farrah.

You can't help but feel horrible for the guy. The love of his life is dying of cancer and the treatments have stopped. His son is in jail for who knows how long -- it's like his life is falling apart. Here's hoping things get better for Ryan, Farrah, and Redmond.

Ryan O'Neal bonds with his son...in handcuffs

Actor Ryan O'Neal and his 23-year-old son Redmond were arrested yesterday for possession of narcotics. Police found meth in Redmond's room during a probation check (yeah, Redmond is just chillin with drugs while he's on probation), AND found a vile of meth in his father's room, too.

I don't think that's the kind of father-son bonding they talk about in counseling.
