It's been confirmed by everyone you could possibly ask -- Joe Jonas will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi as a guest 4th judge at the American Idol auditions when they hit up Dallas, Texas.

Here's why I DON'T like this. Because any 16-year-old that's trying out and happens to be female is going to flip the f*ck out in a really, really, really annoying way. And then I'm going to have to watch it happen and probably put my foot through the TV out of annoyance. So, basically, Idol owes me a TV.

Shania Twain American Idol

It's looking like Shania Twain is going to be the latest guest to appear as the 4th Idol judge for auditions. It's rumored right now that Shania is going to make the trek to Chicago for the auditions there on Aug 30 and 31. Both Shania's camp and Idol execs denied to comment on the rumors, which just makes it that much more obvious it's true.

Jessica Simpson American Idol

There's been rumors that Jessica Simpson is in talks with American Idol to become the replacement 4th judge for the upcoming season, but don't hold your breath on that happening. Jess' rep released a statement yesterday saying that there's "absolutely no truth" to the report, and that she's actually in the process now of filming a new beauty-focused reality show.

I actually didn't think this until just now, but Jess would be the PERFECT replacement for Paula. You'd still get the sweet judge who gives compliments and not criticisms, and at the same time end up hearing some of the dumbest comments coming out of someone's mouth ever. Plus, Jess is a knockout -- who wouldn't wanna stare at her for a few hours a week? Papa Joe needs to get on that!

Victoria Beckham American Idol

My sa-weet sources tell me that Victoria Beckham will be on the panel of judges again when Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and Simon Cowell invade Boston later on today for the American Idol auditions. Victoria also joined the crew a week ago for the Denver auditions, and we've already confirmed that she's slated for one guest appearance -- but is there a chance they'll bring her on as a full-time judge if she keeps doing well?

Ryan wouldn't even give up who the 4th judge would be yesterday during On Air with Ryan Seacrest, so consider this some breaking news.

Paula Abdul Dancing with the Stars

It hasn't even been a week since Paula Abdul officially quit American Idol, but she's already being scouted by another hit reality show that wants her as a judge -- Dancing with the Stars. The President of ABC said that they'd love to have Paula on board as a 4th judge for the show.

I think she's a huge talent. There's a sensitivity and an empathy that balances out Idol, and we'd love to get a piece of that. I was a little stunned by the decision, and we would love to have her.

I dunno if I see Paula fitting in with a ballroom dancing reality show -- I see her making sense more on a show like So You Think You Can Dance, which is the kind of dancing that's pretty much up her alley. Definitely interesting news though...we'll keep you posted.

Kara DioGuardi wants Paula Abdul on Idol

The rumor last season when Kara DioGuardi was brought onto American Idol as a fourth judge was that she was going to be replacing Paula Abdul, or act as "insurance" for the show in case Paula decided to leave. There was also a ton of rumors that there was Kara/Paula feud, but none of that is true. Kara actually talked to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Friday and talked about how sad she is that Paula's gone.

It's such a loss for the show, such a loss for the contestants. She's definitely the heart of the panel. The kind of heart she treated the contestants with, she treated me with last year. She was so kind to me and made me feel immediately like part of the panel. She's an incredible talent. She is somebody who helped make the show as big as it is. How could you ever replace that? If anything, she was really somebody who helped me because it was awkward at times being the fourth person. Last year, it was tough at times. Being the new kid, you get beat up a bit. I'm hoping this year that people are more accepting.

Idol is seriously going to suck without Paula. Half the reason people tuned in was so they could hear her random ass drunk and drugged up comments. It's just not gonna be the same.

American Idol four judges

Since Paula Abdul told the world through Twitter that she's leaving American Idol, a lot of people wondered if the show would go back to having just 3 judges, or if they'd keep going with the 4 judge panel. Just days after signing Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry on for a guest judge spot, Idol execs released a statement saying that they were going to keep the 4 judge panel and not go back to 3.

They also said that they really wanted Paula to return, but she was asking for way too much money. She wanted $10 million a year, but execs only wanted to sign her for $4 million. I actually don't blame the psycho pill popper -- Simon makes $30 million every year, and Ryan Seacrest re-upped his contract for 3 years and $45 million.

Ryan Seacrest bummed about Paula Abdul

Since Paula Abdul announced that she was leaving American Idol on her Twitter page late Tuesday night, Ryan Seacrest obviously had something to say about it during his morning show in LA on KIIS-FM yesterday morning. I'm sure he chose his words carefully to not piss off any Idol execs, but he pretty much said he's bummed about her leaving.

The news stunned me last night. She's a dear friend. I love her to death and am really sad that it came to fruition. I'm just bummed because we've worked together for so many years. It's sad. Everyone that I've passed today here has asked 'Is it true? Is it a publicity stunt?' As far as I know, it's real. At this point she's decided to leave. Obviously she has her reasons for doing it and if she didn't feel like she was getting what she needed. I understand that too.

You can tell he legit feels bad about Paula leaving. I produce Ryan's show on KISS 108 in Boston, and he took a talk break about it and you could tell from the tone in his voice that he was just really bummed out. He even threw up these Tweets throughout the day:

Victoria Beckham American Idol

Just a day after Paula Abdul officially announced on her Twitter page that she wouldn't be returning to American Idol, word came out that producers were in talks with Victoria Beckham about possibly filling her seat at the judge's table.

What do you think? Is Posh Spice a good replacement for Paula? I think it might be a good idea...I really don't think Simon, Kara, and Randy have the chemistry to keep the show going with just the 3 of them.

UPDATE: Victoria will appear as a guest judge on ONE show, not for the whole season. The deal was just finalized.

Paula Abdul quits American Idol

It's finally official -- Paula Abdul is leaving American Idol. There's been tons of rumors about it over the last couple months, but last night she officially Tweeted about her decision to leave the show. Check out what she had to say below (probably easier if you full-screen it.)

Paula Abdul leaving American Idol?

A couple weeks ago I posted that Paula Abdul was offered a brand new contract from the American Idol brass that guaranteed her stay on the show until Idol finally ended its run. But now I'm hearing that Paula wasn't offered that contract, and in fact, she hasn't even been offered a contract at all! Paula's manager put the companies behind Idol (Fremantle and 19 Entertainment) on blast and said that the fact they aren't saying or showing what they want to do is rude and a slap in the face.

I almost feel bad for Paula -- she hasn't even gotten word of her Idol future yet, but she's gotta hear about Ryan Seacrest signing on for a 3-year, $45 million deal, and Simon Cowell signing on for a one-year $100 million contract. I can't say I'll miss her as a judge if she leaves the show, but I'll miss hearing the total stupidity that came out of her mouth. And her cleavage -- I'll definitely miss her cleavage.

Paula Abdul American Idol offer

The suit-and-ties over at American Idol have offered Paula Abdul a contract where she'll stay on board as a judge of the show's entire life. She hasn't signed the contract yet and is in the final stages of negotiations, but it's pretty much guaranteed that she'll renew her contract, which expired at the end of last season.

[We're a] dysfunctional family of sorts. I'm the nurturing mom, Simon's the disapproving dad, and Randy's the cool brother. It's been an interesting journey. It's something that I'll always would want to be a part of.

Notice how she shafted Kara DioGuardi in the whole dysfunctional family assignments? Whammy. I bet she's still pissed that Kara looked so smokin' hot in her bikini at the Finale.

Danny Gokey cursed by history?

If history is any indication, then Danny Gokey is f*cked. On the heels of 3 of the Top 4 finalists of American Idol landing record deals over the past few weeks (Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta), the attention is turning to the odd man out -- 3rd place finisher Danny Gokey. While we're waiting to see if anyone is going to pick Danny up, we decided to look at past 3rd place finishers, and really, the only one with some success (and by success, I mean one song that was a chart topper and another one that went nowhere fast) was Elliot Yamin. Other 3rd place finishers were Nikki McKibbin (who became most famous for a stint on Celebrity Rehab) and Vonzell Solomon (who?) -- so it's looking like Danny seriously is screwed.

On the flip side, Allison is in good company. A couple of other 4th place finishers? A country star named Josh Gracin, and this bald guy named Chris Daughtry.

Paula Abdul not sure if she's returning to Idol

Here we go with this song and dance again. Paula Abdul was a guest on Late Show with David Letterman a couple of nights ago and he brought up the rumors that she definitely wasn't coming back for the next season of American Idol. Paula told David that she "never said that I wasn't returning, I just said that I'm not sure. It's called negotiating." David was quick on his feet and gave Paula some advice about playing hardball, saying that he told CBS that he was thinking of not returning after his contract was up, and they said, "Fine, because we've got another guy ready to go."

I'd put money on Paula returning next year. I really don't think she'd give up being in the limelight as an Idol judge yet, plus...it's not like she really has anything else going for her except random cheer camp shows on MTV and having fans kill themselves outside of her house.

AT&T helps Kris Allen win Idol?

There's nothing better than a good controversy to taint a win. Everyone (including himself) was SHOCKED last week when Kris Allen walked away with the American Idol title. He's even both blogged and said on national TV that Adam should've won it (only to come back and say America couldn't have made a bad vote.) Turns out AT&T, one of Idol's biggest sponsors, may have had a hand in giving Kris the crown.

AT&T provided phones for free text messaging at two different Kris support parties. On top of that, workers showed the partygoers how to power text -- send 10 texts/votes with the push of a button. Interestingly enough, AT&T wasn't present at any Adam support parties, and definitely didn't show any Adam voters how to power texts.

So basically, two questions can be asked out of this. 1) Did AT&T want Kris to win because they felt more comfortable advertising on a show that had him as a winner instead of Adam? and 2) Since AT&T is such a vital part of Idol's advertising income, did Idol execs strike a deal behind the scenes with AT&T to make sure Kris was named the winner because he'd be a less controversial face to market? Either way, this totally ruins Kris' win and rains on his parade. I was an Adam fan, but even I think this is total bush league bullsh*t.

Clay Aiken glad Adam Lambert didn't win Idol

For some reason, Clay Aiken thinks we actually still care what he has to say, and thinks what he says is relevant in everyday life. That's why he took to his website (which, by the way, you have to pay $30 to become a fan club member to access) to voice his opinion on the outcome of American Idol. Long story short, Clay is glad that Adam Lambert lost and didn't think he was talented in the first place.

The minute that Adam Lambert was singing Ring of Fire ... at that moment, [I] thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn't really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him. But Idol is not always a matter of musical taste only. It's about the person you like. From what little I saw, Kris seemed likable. This year, there was an obvious bias. Not even having watched the show, I can tell you that I was WELL aware of the bias from the judges as to who should win. In my opinion, that is awfully unattractive. I don't think I am alone.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Clay is just insanely jealous of Adam. Adam is more talented than Clay is, he has more of a following than Clay did, and he didn't feel the need to hide who he was (AKA his sexuality) for so many years like Clay did. Clay, no one cares about you anymore. So stop trying to get back in the limelight and hop on the treadmill.

Bikini Girl blasts Kara DioGuardi

Wednesday night's American Idol finale was easily one of the best I've ever seen. It was entertaining from start to finish, and definitely had some twists and turns, including Idol judge involvement that will never be duplicated. If you remember during the Idol tryout shows, Katrina Darrell walked onto the set wearing nothing but a bikini and thought she was the sh*t. She sang Mariah Carey's Vision of Love, and challenged Kara when she said that she couldn't sing the song well. Fast forward to Wednesday night, when Katrina started singing the song again, then Kara showed up on stage and belted out the song, making her look like a fool, then showed off a body that in my mind is a ton better than Katrina's.

Katrina had a couple of interviews yesterday talking about the whole deal, and at first she was saying how she thought Kara was pretty and a good songwriter, but then in later interviews totally trashed her, saying that she's "a songwriter who wants to be an artist that just made herself look stupid." Then she went on to say unlike Kara, she's "not 50 years old and I spray tan." Kara is only 39, for the record.

This is obviously talk of a jealous girl who knows that she got outstaged in singing and body wise. Because you can put all the fake t*ts you want on your chest and stand in a booth while you get sprayed with orange all you want, but at the end of the day, a naturally could body, tanned or not, will kick your ass, plain and simple. Katrina, you got owned, now shut the f*ck up.
