David Cook's brother dies

In some sad news, David Cook's brother Adam lost his battle with brain cancer late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. You may remember Adam appearing on stage with his brother a couple of times during his season if American Idol, and a heartfelt song David sang about/to Adam during one week. David actually broke the news yesterday while he was a guest speaker at the 12th annual Race for Hope 5K in Washington D.C. We have the video below.

David Archuleta's album drops tomorrow!!

All of you David Archuleta fans, GET PUMPED!! Archie's debut self-titled album hits stores tomorrow! Obviously it'll have his breakout hit Crush, but Archie says there's a lot more than just ballads on the CD.

I did sing a lot of ballads on American Idol because I felt I could connect with people most that way. But I don't want people to think that's all I can do. I wanted to show that I'm still young and fresh and that I listen to Top 40 radio too.

In an interesting set-up to renew their Idol "rivalry," David Cook's album drops one week from tomorrow on November 18. You KNOW they set it up so the Davids could go one-on-one again.

Reigning American Idol David Cook was seen out and about with his girlfriend, ex-Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell. The two grabbed a nice lunch and then walked around hand-in-hand.

That is one lucky man, folks.

Idol tour won't stop the love train for David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell

Unlike the other David from the latest season of Idol, David Cook has it all right now. He's the reigning American Idol, he's about to take off on the Idol tour (53 performances in 49 cities over 72 days), and he has a HOT girlfriend (complete with kissing...poor Archuleta). But a lot of people are saying that the Idol tour could break his relationship with Kimberly Caldwell because it's so demanding. Cook's not worried.

I get to do what I love and love what I do, so no, it doesn't put a damper on anything. Kim's great. She's got a little bit of insight on it which definitely helps. She's very supportive, and not only with me but with my entire family, which is huge. She's great.

The Idol tour kicks off today in Glendale, AZ. I plan on keeping Kimberly company while Mr. Cook is gone. Sorry bro...you snooze, you lose.

David Cook thinks Archuleta's dad is cool

I didn't realize this was still an issue, seeing as how American Idol ended about a month ago, but apparently there's still talk going on about how people view David Arculeta's dad, Jeff. Idol winner David Cook was the latest to throw in his two cents.

I've never seen Jeff be anything but a caring, loving father, so for me it’s much ado about nothing.

Cook also said he's excited to have Jeff on the bus for the American Idol tour. Maybe now that everyone smells what the winner is Cookin' (see what I did there?), this topic can die quicker than Jackson's attraction to women.

Confirmed: Cook and Caldwell

David Cook IS dating former fellow Idol contestant, Kimberly Caldwell. She appeared in the 2nd season alongside Mr. Ruben Studdard.

How'd the two meet? He appeared on her show on the TV Guide Network and put her on the spot. Cook spewed the following...."I'm just excited because I finally get to talk to you," he told her during an interview Wednesday night on the Idol Tonight show. "I've been hearing you say all these nice things about me all season, So I'm actually going to ask you to dinner right now."

Caldwell accepted, with a hug, telling the camera after Cook left, "I just got asked out on a date."

now that the show is over and we don't have performances or judge reviews to talk about... how bout the next best thing?!?! hook-ups!!! Latest rumor says that David Cook is now dating former Idol contestant, Kimberley Caldwell, who hosts the Idol Show on channel 58.

Best Idol performance from last night

I know this is pretty shocking since it's a song that no one has ever heard before, but Cookie KILLED it with his performance of Dream Big. This song was stuck in my head for 5 mins after he finished, and I think that says something. Plus, I'm sick of the winning song being some puke-worthy ballad.

IDOL....

So unfortunately our first poll did not predict the person going home but I'm still satisfied... Kristy was overdue and it was her time to go.

Syesha will most likely be next... either that or Brooke. I'm all set with the girls this season so either or is fine for me.

Anybody else get tricked out last night when they made the two groups on the stage for elimination? When I ever saw Jason Castro on the other side of the stage of David Cook, I got nervous. IDOL is always teasing us like that.. switching people before the final announcement.

I really liked Mariah's new single but I hated how the whole theme last night was about losing somebody you love/death. David Cook probably didn't appreciate it either. They came out singing ONE SWEET DAY and Mariah's new song is about losing people you love, just seemed a little too much for the week that David's terminally ill brother visited the set.

What's the theme for next week? I don't think I've seen it yet. Though I hope LEONA will still be performing as I reported earlier. The girl is siiiiiiiick. If you own the CD, check out BETTER WITH TIME, it's my favorite!!!

American Idol's David Cook hospitalized!

After last night's Idol, David Cook was rushed to a local hospital after feeling "heart palpitations."

This was after Cook gave a great performance of Dolly Parton's "Little Sparrow."

Upon arriving at the hospital, Cook was treated for high blood pressure then released and is back with his Idol comrades now.

PS -- Did anyone else think it was a tad odd when Kristy Lee Cook said she didn't really care if her mama was proud of her right now?? Ouch. Poor mama.
