AT&T helps Kris Allen win Idol?

There's nothing better than a good controversy to taint a win. Everyone (including himself) was SHOCKED last week when Kris Allen walked away with the American Idol title. He's even both blogged and said on national TV that Adam should've won it (only to come back and say America couldn't have made a bad vote.) Turns out AT&T, one of Idol's biggest sponsors, may have had a hand in giving Kris the crown.

AT&T provided phones for free text messaging at two different Kris support parties. On top of that, workers showed the partygoers how to power text -- send 10 texts/votes with the push of a button. Interestingly enough, AT&T wasn't present at any Adam support parties, and definitely didn't show any Adam voters how to power texts.

So basically, two questions can be asked out of this. 1) Did AT&T want Kris to win because they felt more comfortable advertising on a show that had him as a winner instead of Adam? and 2) Since AT&T is such a vital part of Idol's advertising income, did Idol execs strike a deal behind the scenes with AT&T to make sure Kris was named the winner because he'd be a less controversial face to market? Either way, this totally ruins Kris' win and rains on his parade. I was an Adam fan, but even I think this is total bush league bullsh*t.

Kris Allen thought Adam Lambert deserved to win Idol

Does Kris Allen think America possibly got it wrong? We heard him say during the Idol finale that Adam Lambert deserved to win the competition after Kris was named the winner, but I think we all figured he was just in shock and being humble. But it turns out, he really thinks Adam does deserve the title of Season 8 Idol -- but so does he.

I feel that Adam deserved it just as much as I did. He was the most consistent person all year, he was seriously one of the most gifted performers ... that I've ever met, and he's really just a great guy, and we became great friends. And we told each other that day, "You deserve it," and he shot it back at me ... You know, I think it could have gone either way, and America could definitely not have got it wrong.

You know, sometimes you can tell when people are just saying stuff to BS their way through an interview, but you can almost FEEL Kris' words and tell that he actually means them. These 2 are both going places...congrats to both!

Kris Allen wins American Idol

Kris Allen shocked the world last night!! Well, kinda. Kris took the title of American Idol for Season 8 after a pretty fun night. I'll get back to Kris' win in a second, but first...I'm not gonna lie, when shows usually take 2 hours to do something that takes 10 seconds (like announcing a winner), I usually get really annoyed. But the American Idol finale last night actually kept me pretty entertained. Between the Top 13 coming back to perform, not to mention crossovers like Lionel Richie and Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and KISS, Kara DioGuardi and bikini girl, a SICK performance by the Black Eyed Peas, and a performance by Rod Stewart that made me sick -- it was a great night and kudos to everyone involved. Back to Kris -- is it me, or did he really NOT shock the world? I feel like everyone had a feeling that Kris would edge Adam out. And I know that I predicted Adam yesterday, but I really had a feeling Kris would sneak away with it. So congrats goes out to Kris, and I'm sure we'll hear from Adam and a few others from the Top 13.

By the way, 3 best parts of the night: 1) Black Eyed Peas performance -- sh*t was ELECTRIC. 2) Ryan Seacrest to Bikini Girl -- "I was gonna ask you what's new, but I already know." (Talking about her boob job) 3) Kara DioGuardi singing over Bikini Girl and kicking her ass, then ripping her dress open when she was done singing and showing of a KILLER body. Then being hilariously humble and saying that Bikini Girl had a better body? No way, Kara. Show that shizz off!! P.S. Thanks to rickey.org for the pic above -- nice O face, Kris.

American Idol Finalist performances!!

Last night was it! The LAST TIME the Season 8 finalists, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, would be performing for votes on the American Idol stage. They each sang 3 songs -- one picked by Simon Fuller, one of their favorite performances over the season, and each performed the same song written by Kara DioGuardi called No Boundaries. I gotta say, as much as I think Adam kicks ass and I'm more into rock than pop, I was pulling for Kris to pull out the underdog win, because I usually always go for the underdog. But I gotta say, it all came down to Kara's song for me, and I think Adam belted it out better, even though I almost think Kris' version is more radio-friendly. So as tough as it is, I'm gonna say Adam wins Season 8 of Idol. We find out tonight who gets the crown!!

American Idol Top 3 performances

The Top 3 contestants went at it last night on American Idol, having to perform 2 songs each. One was picked by the judges, and one was picked by the contestant. Based on both performances -- I dunno who's going home this week, honestly. They were all AWESOME, especially Kris Allen's performance of Heartless. But I think I gotta pick him to leave this week, just because it seems like Adam and Danny have MUCH bigger backings, plus his version of Apologize wasn't as hot as the other performances. But this was honestly the hardest week to choose the weakest contestant.

American Idol Top 4 performances

It was Rock Week last night on American Idol, with each of the Final Four -- Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen -- performing solo rock songs, then we were treated to 2 duets, one from Adam and Allison, and the other from Danny and Kris. Check out all the videos below!! My prediction for the Bottom 2 this week: Allison and Kris. Going home is Kris, who sounded HORRIBLE next to Danny in their duet.
