Buffy returning to the big screen

Back in '92, Luke Perry and Kristy Swanson starred in a movie called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not too long after that, Sarah Michelle Gellar starred in the small screen version of Buffy, which ended up being ridiculously popular. Turns out producers want to ride that wave of popularity back onto the big screen, and are planning on a relaunch and remake of the movie version. Joss Whedon, the creator of the TV version, isn't involved though, so it'll be interesting to see what happens. No cast members have been named yet, not even Buffy.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the TV cast hit the big screen for a reunion-type movie? Me thinks this movie is going to do what the original movie did -- reek of sucktitude.

Top 25 crime thrillers of all time

Moviefone.com released a list of the Top 25 crime thriller movies of all time, and the put Silence of the Lambs as their #1. I was surprised that The Departed only ranked #16, and I was bummed that The Boondock Saints didn't even make the list! Check out the rest of the movies on the list right here.

Cloverfield - Monster Movie Review

Taken from www.jacksonbluesreviews.com:

Cloverfield was 85 minutes... 25 of which were great... 15 of which were good... 15 that were setup minutes... and 30 of which sucked.

If you're reading this review you've probably seen the movie too. (I won't put up a "spoiler picture" of the monster so don't worry freaks --- besides my awesomely detailed computer-drawn pic.)

Things I liked:
*Fresh take on monster movies -- it's never shown from OUR (the civilian) view. I'd sh*t my pants if I were running up a staircase to jump from building to bulding while one was about to collapse and a monster was on the loose too!
*The "camcorder" feel. Never saw Blair Witch... never will. But the camera work in here was cool. It seemed authentic at times... and absolute bullsh*t at times too -- but we'll talk about that in the negatives column. However -- it DID kind of make it feel real, like when the statue of liberty's head comes screeching to a halt in the street and tanks come to shoot at the beast.
*It's "real:" I like the ending... some will fight me, but the way the couples end up are very real in this situation. And the way Marlena was knocked off by the authorities because she was a bite victim. At least that's the way I took it. Plus the looters and smoke were cool.

Things I thought sucked:
*I hated how "fake" it was. Come on!!! She had a RUSTY POST through her body/organs!!! Not to mention that she ALSO went through a helicopter crash afterwards and survived too! I truly believe she may have been cast in the wrong movie -- maybe "Highlander" would have been a better placement because she surely is invincible. I can't wait for the sequel starring her.
*The "camcorder" sucked too. How many f'ing times, and how rapidly did this assface hit the record button??? TOO many 2 second clips. PLUS -- more importantly -- that beast looked FAR too rendered versus the grainy feel of the camcorder.
*Predictability -- from the start you knew who were the main characters, who was trying to get with who, and the general layout of the movie -- few times was I surprised -- minus the end... and the fact that Beth COULDN'T/wouldn't die.
*Things were left unanswered. Did Lilly and Jason meet back up? What the hell WAS the monster??? Where did it come from? These questions didn't mind me much -- in fact I kind of thought it added to the effect the producer/director/writer were aiming for -- but the person I watched it with had a MAJOR problem with this and the fact that it wasn't all resolved by end.

Overall:

Justin Timberlake's buldging package

A) Gayest title of a post ever. Thank you.

B) Uhhh... there is no B. Just a very gay title.

Justin Timberlake plays Jacques Grande in the upcoming movie The Love Guru starring Mike Myers. Justin's character is a pro-hockey player known for his protruding manhood.

And ladies (and certain circles of men) want to know: REAL OR FAKE???

I won't answer. Because I was mega-pissed when I once woke up after losing a tooth as a kid and saw momma slipping a dollar under my pillow. I wasn't so much pissed because I now knew the tooth fairy was fake, but more that a tooth was only worth a buck!

BTW: Justin's character in the movie's nickname is "Le Coq." Nice.

Playing the part of Notorious B.I.G. in the upcoming movie about his life will be....

There's been a much talked about movie about the life of the Notorious B.I.G. in the works for a while now.

The one question everyone's been wondering: who'll play Biggie???

The rumor with the most merit for a while was Sean Kingston. But has he ever acted? I researched... and yes he has. He taught the characters of kid's show "Yo Gabba Gabba" his 'dancey-dance' in an episode entitled "Find." His performance? Uninspired.

It has been announced now that actor and Brooklyn-based rapper Jamal Woolard has been signed on to star in the upcoming movie as the Notorious B.I.G. (Look to visual aid.) Biggie is on the left. Woolard is on the right. Good match??? Whatcha think?

The movie is going into production this month and should be released in January.

First look at the NEW Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk comes to theaters this summer... and that is what he's going to look like this time around.

I'd be pissy and want to smash things too if I had a haircut like that. Supercuts... 12 bucks, Hulk. Look into it. You're not a Beatle.

"Cloverfield" is making people puke

Last weekend's #1 movie at the box office was Cloverfield about a group of twenty-somethings taping themselves on camera as a huge monster wrecks the city.

It set a weekend record for MLK weekend, making around $46 million.

BUT -- due to the spastic camera work (which is supposed to be from an amateur using a handheld home camera), audiences have been vomming like a seagull that just swallowed a cigarette.

From one movie-goer:

"I'm really nauseous right now -- just hold on for a second," she said, before walking down the hall and retching into a trash can.

"I wish I could get my money back."

I think this movie looks pretty badass. Anybody see it? Anybody feel ill?
And if you were wondering what the mysterious monster looks like -- I saw a sketch of it -- and that mention of a sperm whale yesterday??? I think I said it because the monster was top of mind. If you're interested in spoiling the monster let me know and I'll post a link.

Good Luck (keeping movie-goers in their seats for the entire 96 minutes of hell) Chuck

Well... I told you so (see Celebrity Dirt "Thursday"). But then again even a blind man could see that "Good Luck Chuck" was gonna suck.

But - just for poops and laughs - here are some reviews. Mind you, it is currently getting a 3% at Rotten Tomatoes... the worst I've ever seen ANY movie EVER there.

It tries to be a sappy love story, an incredibly vile gross-out comedy and an envelope-pushing soft-core porno movie all at once. It ends up being an unappealing abomination.

Just when you think things can't possibly get worse, they do. And then some.

Please Hollywood, do us a favor. No more Dane Cook! I think I'll make a ribbon for this cause and start wearing it.

Maybe Dane Cook should stick to stand-up.
Oh shit.
He jumped that shark too???
Well I heard he used to be a pretty quick pizza delivery guy at one time.
