Ed McMahon Johnny Carson secret

Ed McMahon brought a secret with him to the grave...or at least he thought he did. For years, he was the sidekick of funnyman Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show, and obviously they had such awesome chemistry that people assumed they were really tight backstage. In fact, Ed talked about Johnny being like "a brother to me" when Johnny died back in 2005. Truth was -- they hardly ever talked off-set, and apparently it crushed Ed that they weren't closer. Sources say they just had very different personalities, with Ed being loud and boisterous and Johnny actually being kinda shy. Actually, a Carson family insider said that Johnny told one of his sons that he couldn't "stand to be around the guy. He gets on my nerves."

Poor Ed. He always came across as a really nice guy, too. If Johnny was just shy, that's one thing -- but to totally shaft a guy that helped make you so popular? What a douche.

Week in Dirt June 21-27

Check out the second edition of the Week in Dirt -- which is pretty much a tribute to Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson this week.

Ed McMahon dies

HUGE loss in Hollywood this morning when we learned that Ed McMahon died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Ed died just after midnight, but word didn't get out until around 8am this morning. There's no official cause of death yet, but NBC News has been reporting for a few hours that Ed died of cancer, although he's apparently had a sh*t ton of medical problems the last few months. Ed of course gained a good deal of his popularity as Johnny Carson's sidekick on The Tonight Show, then went on to host Star Search and become a presenter for the American Family Publishing sweepstakes (Publisher's Clearing House).

R.I.P. Ed -- you're legendary self is definitely going to be missed.

Ed McMahon's still kickin'!!

He may look like he has one foot in the grave, but Ed McMahon wants to let everyone know that he's still alive and kicking. Ed said he finds it amusing that some sources are reporting that he has only days left to live. He's looking forward to celebrating his 86th birthday and that he's doing "excellent."

Good to hear!! I mean, it's good he's not about to die, but that still gives me time to win the Publisher's Clearing House!!

Ed McMahon's dog will kick your ass

One dog I don't want to mess with? Ed McMahon's. It's badass, and people have found out first hand. When someone showed up at the McMahon household to serve them some papers, their little pint-sized poodle went on the attack and started biting the hell outta the guy and left some nip marks on his knee.

Yes!! That dog is kickass!!

"The Donald" bails Ed McMahon out

Donald Trump may get crap for having a toupee or having a trademark face that looks like he's trying to poop out 8 years worth of food, but he's officially one of the nicest guys ever. Even though The Donald has never met Ed McMahon, he purchased Ed's mansion yesterday and is allowing him to stay in there, saying that helping out "would be an honor."

When I was at the Wharton School of Business I'd watch him every night. How could this happen?

All hail The Donald.

Ed McMahon getting sued again

Poor guy can't catch a break. He's broke as sh*t, he looks like sh*t, and health wise, he probably feels like sh*t. He's getting sued by Westmoore Lending for an unpaid loan back from 2006 worth more than $275,000.

This is gonna sound bad, but when this guy dies (and he looks really close), his family is going to be left with nothing. Poor people.

Ed McMahon: dead broke thanks to the booze

85 year-old Ed McMahon is in danger of losing his Beverly Hills home due to foreclosure... and why??? Because the spirits made him a crazy mother-shut-your-mouth. At one point he owned over $200 million dollars in real estate, but according to his attorney Johnny somebody:

You drink and you don't pay attention to your business affairs.
He wasn't paying attention and probably got some bad advice.
I'm hoping America will rally around him and somebody will have a great idea to make him a spokesman.
