Howard Stern has never been private about his dislike for Jay Leno, and he didn't hold back last night when he was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman. Howard slammed Jay's final goodbye from a couple of weeks ago when he signed off of The Tonight Show and passed the torch onto Conan O'Brien.
I haven't been here in a long time especially in light of everything going on in late night television. We've got to beat this Conan. How are you feeling that Jay left late night television and now you've got this new guy to compete with? I've got to say something about loyalty Dave put me on national television many many years ago before I was known, and I have stuck with Dave. I never liked Jay. I can't stand Jay. I've never seen anybody who behaves like a robot like this guy. I watched his final show, saying goodbye to the Tonight Show, reading it off a teleprompter. HERE'S (talking about David) the host that we want to watch.
Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure Jay wasn't reading from a teleprompter, and if he was, he did a pretty good job of making it sound like it was coming off the top of his head. Howard's just pissed because his radio show sucks and his ratings are tanking.
