In his new memoir American on Purpose, Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson opens up about a dark time in his life when he hit rock bottom and seriously contemplated killing himself. After a booze-filled night out, Craig woke up in the storage room of a London pub on Christmas morning covered in vomit and urine, and decided it was time to end it all.
I felt worse than I ever had ... I was a drunk, a loser and a disaster as a human being ... The shame was immense. It pushed down on me like a terrible weight.
On his way to jump off of the Tower Bridge in London, he randomly ran into a friend, who unknowingly kept him off of that bridge that day. Fate works in mysterious ways, my friends.
