CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Helen Phillips, who was named The Biggest Loser during last night's 3-hour live Finale!! The Finale kicked off with the naming of the 3rd Finalist, which was a vote-off by America between the father and son team of Mike and Ron Morelli. As expected, Mike was named the last finalist and was set to go up against Helen and Tara later on in the night.
Jerry Hayes walked away with the $100,000 at-home prize, losing 177 pounds!! The most amazing parts of this were the fact that Jerry passed out within the first hour of working out in the gym on the Biggest Loser ranch on the very first day, and the fact that he was only there for 2 weeks!! Not to mention he's 64-years-old, which just goes to show that if he can do it, anyone can! Check out his before and after pictures below.
For the finalists, Helen was the first to weigh in, dropping 140 of her original 257 pounds. Mike was up next and although he dropped 207 of his starting 388 pounds, he didn't lose enough of a percentage to take the lead, so Helen remained on top. It was down to her and Tara, who needed to lose 161 pounds to beat Helen. Tara was 6 pounds off, losing 155 pounds and giving Helen the $250,000 grand prize.
Here's where I get pissed. There's a ton of people who are saying that Helen doesn't deserve it for multiple reasons, but the two that surface most is that Tara worked her ass off and she should've won it, and Helen should've kept her daughter on the ranch instead of sending her home (9 contestants were sent home with the chance of being brought back at the beginning of the show). Helen busted HER ass off, too, and at 48-years-old, beat out a 23-year-old fair and square. I can't believe people have the f*cking audacity to try and take this win away from Helen. The fact is, she beat 2 people more than half her age to win The Biggest Loser -- I'd say that's f*cking earning it.
And another thing to your Helen haters. Did you see how your precious Tara reacted at the end of the weigh-in? While every other contestant still (except Dave, who seemed really disappointment with himself for not doing well) celebrated the fact that they lost a sh*t ton of weight and changed their lives whether they were bringing home money or not, Tara looked up and rolled her eyes with disappointment. While everyone else seemed to bust their ass to change their lives, that reaction right there proved that she was just in it for the money. Not to mention she didn't walk off the scale and congratulate Tara right after, either. Quite simply, Tara may be a sore loser, but she's not The Biggest Loser.
Congrats to all the contestants on changing their lives. Onward and upward from here, including the wait for Season 8! Check out Helen winning below!!
