Ladies and gents, start your engines -- it's looking like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will both be back on the market soon. Zac and Vanessa have been dating for the last 3 years and have totally become teen idols, mainly because of their hit trilogy of High School Musical movies. But after having a pretty good response to 17 Again, Zac is looking to shed the teen idol image and vault himself into major movie stardom. His manager thinks in order to do that, he has to distance himself from all things Disney, including Vanessa. A source close to Zac gave us the dirt.
Zac's been told that to go from a teen idol to a major movie star, he has to distance himself from his HSM image. One big thing that means is no more Vanessa. When people see them together, they think of their characters. Zac does still love Vanessa. He's agonizing about this! He’s reconsidering his public image. No more musicals is another step — that’s why he dropped out of the Footloose remake.
Zac kinda seems like a mega attention whore, so I could totally see him dropping Vanessa in order to try and bring his career up to another level. We'll see what happens.
