Chris Benoit's doctor sentenced

Chris Benoit's doctor was sentenced to 10 years in prison yesterday for illegally prescribing painkillers and other drugs to his patients. Dr. Phil Astin prescribed meds to known addicts for years, and was thrown into the spotlight after the Benoit Family deaths back in June of 2007. On top of that, at least 2 of the patients that Dr. Astin was treating ended up dying because of a huge oversight of what meds they were taking. During the Benoit investigation, prosecutors couldn't tell whether steroids that Dr. Astin prescribed Chris played a part in the deaths, which was ruled a double murder suicide.

I could talk all day about the gaps in the Benoit case goes, especially considering I got sidetracked on YouTube while I was trying to find a picture of Chris to use and ended up spending an hour looking at conspiracy theories. But this post isn't about whether or not Chris actually killed his family and then himself, it's about a d*ckbag doctor being put behind bars for harming and risking the lives of his patients.
