Courtney Love is the victim of identity theft, and it's cost her $500 million so far. A little back story -- when Kurt Cobain died, he left his estate to his mother, two sisters, one brother, Courtney, and his daughter Frances Bean. Courtney recently realized that the money was missing, so she hired an accountant, investigator, and lawyer to figure out what's going on. Turns out that her's, Kurt's, and Frances' social security numbers were used to buy and flip homes, then launder in a crapload of money, over $500 million worth. Courtney's lawyer said they're going to be filing civil cases within the next 30 days, and whatever homes they end up getting back will be donated to people who lost their home due to foreclosure.
I just have one question -- how the hell do you commit identity theft with a dead man's identity?
