John Hughes, who directed some classic movies in the 80's like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, The Breakfast Club and tons more, ended up dying yesterday of a heart attack in New York City. John was just going for a morning walk while visiting his family when he ended up going into cardiac arrest. John had taken a step away from the limelight to focus on his family, an Illinois farm, and also supporting independent arts. He was 59 and left behind a wife of 39 years, two sons and four grandchildren.
Check out a scene from one of my favorite movies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Our thoughts go out to John's family.
