It's very possible that Susan Boyle may have lost Britain's Got Talent because of the very thing that made her the most popular person in the World -- YouTube. Right after her performance at the Britain's Got Talent finals on Saturday night, YouTube was flooded with videos of her performance, which included the number to call in order to vote for her. But there was a catch -- her number was changed on some of the videos. Instead of the last two digits appearing as "08" to vote for her, they were changed to "07" (Diversity's number) and "09" (Shaun Smith's number.) YouTube said they kept the videos up because British broadcasters ITV liked the additional advertisement, but had no idea about the wrong numbers. They did release a statement, though.
We are satisfied viewers had ample opportunity to know which voting numbers to call. We are not responsible for any phone numbers which may have been posted on unofficial websites.
I highly doubt YouTube had anything to do with it. You're telling me that people from America and other countries were so invested in making sure that Susan Boyle won the contest that they were going to make some super long-ass distance calls based on numbers from YouTube? Yeah, face it. Susan lost to a better performer, then needed to check into a padded cell because she pulled a Mariah. Leave it alone.
