We threw up a post about a month ago reporting on the death of ex-Wilco member Jay Bennett. He was randomly found dead at his home, so no one really knew what the cause was. After an autopsy, it turns out that Jay died of an overdose of the painkiller fentanyl, which is usually prescribed by doctors to fight chronic pain. The pills he had were legit and prescribed by his doctor for horrible hip pain brought on from a decade-old hip injury. The pain was so severe that he became focused on raising enough money to get hip surgery.
R.I.P. Jay, and our thoughts go out to his family after finding out this news. I'm gonna go out on a limb though and call it an accidental overdose.
