Alicia Keys has second lowest #1 of all time!

This week Alicia Keys has the #1 album in the country.

Soundscan is the company that has been measuring album sales and determining the chart since 1991. This week soundscan said Keys' As I Am sold 60,519 copies - enough to make her #1, but also a low enough amount to make her the second lowest-selling #1 album in the history of Soundscan charting.

This definitely prooves that CD sales are waaaaaay down and dropping like a lead brick made of iron.

Questions then:
Do you still buy CDs, or mostly digital downloads?
Do you still listen to the radio? (Be honest... I can take it.)

By the way - in case you're keeping track - the lowest selling #1 album of all time was The Dreamgirls Soundtrack.

I really like Alicia Keys.. but I don't know if I would buy an album.. What I have been doing lately is listening to the radio (Kiss108 is My FAVE ((wink, wink)) ) and I pick out my fave songs and download them! :)

I rarely ever buy CD's. With the except of Keith Urbans 18 Kids album that came out recently I haven't bought a CD since 2000. It's a waste of money when A.) No one uses CD players B.) Why would you when there are MP3 players that hold anywhere from 1,000 to 1,000,000 songs C.) Why pay 16.00 for 18 songs when you can get unlimited songs for free by download......it's sad for the artists that put all the hardwork into making an album for us, but at the same time I don't feel guilty for using the money I save on more important things... like porn! JK :P

lol good points saraleanne!

i also think those are good points. i think something should be done about it because artists just keep losing tons of money on the cds and stuff. either they should make it all over the computer, or not have download. which would suck ass so i say they should make it all over the computer some how.

I never buy CDs because I only use my mp3 player. It also saves a lot of money not paying for a whole CD when you listen to only one or two songs from it.I do pay for most of my downloads though. If I like the song, someone should get paid making it.
