Legendary writer Frank McCourt lost his battle with cancer yesterday and died at the age of 78 in New York City. Frank had been battling skin cancer for a while and was actually released in June to recoop from treatment, but since his immune system was still shot, he ended up coming down with meningitis about 2 weeks ago, which played a major part in his death. He's best known for writing the popular book-turned-movie Angela's Ashes. For the record, this isn't the same Frank McCourt that owns the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Our thoughts go out to Frank's family and friends.
