Tisdale: In Front of Camera to Behind the Camera?

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale is reportedly nearing a one year deal with the American Idol producers, FreemantleMedia North America, as well as a deal that will have her executive produce a new untitled series for Disney Channel and a starring role in United Artists' remake of the 1989 movie Teen Witch. Miss Tisdale seems to be branching out her talents into new areas.. our little girl is growing up! :)

The as-yet untitled Disney Channel show is set in a mall, based on Tisdale's own experience as a pre-HSM mall employee. She will serve as executive producer but not star in it. As for the FreemantleMedia deal, it is unclear from conflicting reports whether the producers would build projects revolving around Tisdale or whether she will just serve as a producer and help develop unscripted shows aimed at a younger demographic.

She's pretty talented though so I think she could produce and star in the same show if she wanted to. The girl's got determination. She already has a full plate as it is between balancing High School Musical and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and working on her second album release!! And she spends all her off time dodging Jadd, her #1 stalker. Kidddddding.
