During an interview with Access Hollywood's Maria Menounos, Lindsay Lohan was asked about her reaction on the election, since she's such a huge Obama supporter. Her response was, "It was really exciting. It's an amazing feeling. It's our first [muffled mystery word] president." A lot of people are speculating on what the mystery word was, and a lot of people are saying she said "colored." Honestly, I listened, and that's what it sounds like, but let me actually defend LiLo for a second here. And I mean NO OFFENSE to anyone with what I'm about to say.
Sometimes, it's really tough to describe the African American race, because we're not even really sure what term to use without seeming offensive or making it a whole "those people" issue. And I feel like we've been told TONS of different terms to use in reference -- African Americans, Afro-Americans, black people, blacks, "people of color" -- so I can see why Lindsay purposely muffled the word, because she probably wasn't sure which term would be appropriate to use and didn't want to come across as disrespectful.
