DJ AM opens up about plane crash

In his first interview since his horrific plane crash a month ago, DJ AM sat down with People magazine to discuss what happened that night on the plane, and what it's been like for him since.

AM calls himself "the luckiest man alive" and says that he actually doesn't even know what happened to cause the crash. Once he boarded the plane, he kicked off his shoes and went to sleep, and the next thing he remembers is crashing into something and hearing Travis scream that they needed to get off the plane.

He said that Travis jerked open a door and slid down a wing of the plane that was already on fire, and AM himself actually had to jump through a fireball to bail out. He busted out the ole "stop, drop, and roll" then helped Travis extinguish his flames, which caused even more damage to AM. When it was all said and done, his eyebrows and layers of skin were burned off his face, his forehead was gouged and he had skin hanging off of his arm.

Sounds pretty scary, and makes me even more glad that they made it out and are recovering. And again, R.I.P. to the 4 people who lost their lives that night.
