Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates sobriety

Jamie Lee Curtis hits the cover of More magazine for the July/August issue and speaks up about something she's been very quiet about. Her drug and alcohol problems.

The soon-to-be 50-year-old actress-turned children's author reveals in the magazine that she struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for more than 20 years, but kept it so underwraps that not even her husband Chris knew.

She decided to flip the script on her problems just 10 years ago at a New Year's Eve party. Everyone at the dinner table wrote on a piece of paper what goal they wanted to accomplish, and all Jamie Lee could think of was sobriety. The piece of paper sits in a frame on her dresser.

It's the single most important thing I've ever done. When you gain sobriety in the middle of your life, you're really reborn.

If only she could be reborn as a not-hemaphrodite, too.
