15 innings and 4 hours 50 minutes later, the American League finally beat the National League to win the 2008 All-Star Game, the last All-Star Game to ever be played in Yankee Stadium. The AL finally won 4-3 after Texas Rangers' shortstop Michael Young hit a deep fly to centerfield, giving Minnesota Twins' first basemen Justin Mourneau plenty of time to score the winning run in the Bottom of the 15th.
Boston Red Sox's outfielder J.D. Drew was named the MVP, and the polite fans in Yankee Stadium booed the hell out of him. Mind you, hours earlier they cheered for him when he tied the score of the game with a 2-run homer. It makes sense though. The Yankees haven't won a World Series this millennium, and their stadium is going to be turned into a parking lot.
I think it's time to face facts -- the Yankees really do suck.
